I suffered a rotator cuff impingement, and physical therapy wasn't helping -- in fact, it seemed to make it worse. I decided to try acupuncture, and the results were really surprising. After 3 treatments, I recovered movement in my shoulder, and the pain greatly decreased. Six treatments later, my shoulder feels fantastic, and it functions normally again. It's been a great way to heal and recover.

After a painful fall a few years ago, I acquired back issues. On top of that, I tried for a few years to conceive. I’ve tried many different things to help with both issues to no avail. After experiencing post uterine ablation syndrome for several months, I sought out acupuncture treatment in hopes of relieving the painful episodes that were occurring on a monthly basis. I have been receiving regular acupuncture for six months now and I am experiencing significant decreased pain. Given the promising results, I plan to continue acupuncture in hopes of reducing my pain further!.

I came to Seattle Acupuncture seeking help with high cholesterol and to avoid the common practice by traditional medicine of treating the problem by prescribing statin drugs. Since seeing Monica over the past year for acupuncture and Chinese herbal supplements, I am pleased to report that my cholesterol is now down over 20 points overall and the particle numbers (a more significant indicator as determined by an NMR test) have also come down 200 points. These are very positive result! Also, new research shows many negative outcomes for post-menepausal women who take statins, which confirms my reluctance to treat the problem with traditional medicine. I am optimistic that continued treatments with Monica will bring even greater positive results.

I was getting at least one migraine every week when I first went to Monica Legatt for treatment. Her acupuncture sessions, herbal combinations and dietary advice have played a major role in reducing headache incidents to an average of one a month. Though I have since learned to avoid certain migraine triggers, and have added a B2 supplement to my anti-migraine regimen, I credit my work with Monica for the largest part of my improvement as it was under her care that I first saw a reduction in headache frequency.

I've found that acupuncture, coupled with herb supplements that Monica recommended, have helped treat and control psoriasis in surprising ways. I had tried various steroid- based traditional treatments from my doctor, and they're pricey and not very effective. Psoriasis isn't something 'curable,' but acupuncture and herb treatment has greatly reduced my skin issues and has been abundantly helpful.

I came to Monica after suffering two very early miscarriages.  My OB provided no answers or help, so I turned to Monica and found exactly what I needed.  From the first visit, I knew I had found to right person to help me get and STAY pregnant.  She was professional, extremely knowledgeable and very reassuring.  I got pregnant again quickly and as soon as I found out I e-mailed her (on a Sunday) and she replied right away encouraging me to come in for a treatment so that we could maintain the pregnancy.  The treatments helped relieve my anxiety, lessened my morning sickness and, most importantly, kept me pregnant.  I visited Monica again when I was 41 weeks pregnant with no sign of labor on the horizon.  She treated me on Monday, again on Wednesday and I went into labor on Thursday.  I’m currently 5 months post partum and will be visiting Monica again as I’m having difficulty recovering from the 3rd degree perineal tear I experienced during delivery.  I am confident that treatment will aid in my healing and recovery.        

I found acupuncture to be very relaxing; I would often doze.  I appreciated Monica’s straightforward approach.  She recommended what was needed, no more or less.  She is readily available by e-mail and honest about whether or not acupuncture can help with whatever issue you’re facing.  I have referred several friends to Monica and will continue to do so in the future.  

Before working with Monica I saw other acupuncturists to help with fertility issues but I did not develop confidence in their treatments. As soon as I began to work with Monica I knew I had found the right practitioner. She was always compassionate and professional and her treatments gave me immediate relief of various symptoms and challenges. Monica was a great help to me in my process of having babies, in preparing my body for the conception of my two children, and also with preparing for labor and delivery, and with post-partum healing. I cannot recommend her highly enough.
